Hillcrest - Two skunks near the San Diego Zoo have been reported as spraying animals at night, including two dogs.

If you’re walking at night near the zoo, especially along 1st Avenue between Robinson and Pennsylvania Avenue, be aware of any potential skunk spraying.

"Two dogs have already been skunked... So please keep them close and on leash. Especially at night when the skunks are out," stated by Scott Fuller, of Hillcrest Central.

Warning signs include stomping of feet, hissing, raised tail, and quick lunges toward their perceived threat.

To avoid a potential spraying, move away slowly and quietly, and restrain your dog from barking or attacking.
