A single mother dealing with a brain tumor and the loss of her car received the surprise of a lifetime from some local "angels."

Terri Torres could not believe her eyes when she saw what was waiting for her in a church parking lot on Friday -- a car to replace the one she lost.

The car came just when Torres needed it most, as she has had to miss some crucial medical appointments.

Torres is fighting a hemangioma -- a brain tumor that recently doubled in size.

Local group Passion 4 K.I.D.S. heard about Torres' plight, stepped in and made some calls.

"It feels wonderful, you know; I've never experienced anything like this. I've had a lots of struggles, going through lots of struggles. So just to have some happy news, you know, something positive really takes a big load off of us. It does; a big load off of us right now, it does," said Torres.

The couple behind the act of kindness, Linda and Charles Van Kessler, said the joy lies in the giving.

"I couldn't sleep all night; I was so excited about it. And it just brings us joy to step into people's lives that we don't really know that well and that don't have a great support system around them but who are struggling on a deep, deep level and they need people to step up and to know people are there for them," Linda Kessler said.

"It's just good to know that there are people in this world that do good things," Torres said.

Torres said as soon as she's healthier she hopes to keep the kindness going and do good things for others.
