A San Diego International Airport shuttle that transports employees was carjacked Tuesday, according to a spokesperson for the airport.
Around 3:51 p.m., employees were waiting in the shuttle preparing to leave when the suspect entered the shuttle and began to drive away.
The employees did not realize at first that the suspect was not the correct driver.
According to the spokesperson, some employees tried to intervene.
The shuttle eventually pulled over and a Harbor Police Traffic Officer intervened.
The suspect was taken into custody at North Harbor Drive and Hawthorn.
The entire incident lasted about five minutes, according to the airport spokesperson.
