A free event in the South Bay this weekend may save your life.
“We have a real problem in this country with suicide. It’s one of the top ten reasons why a person dies,” said Sharp Health Care Behavioral Health Therapist Elizabeth Callahan, Ed.D.
Sharp Chula Vista is hosting the South County Behavioral Health Resource Fair this Saturday at Chula Vista High School from 8:30 to 2:30. The event is free and expected to bring together roughly 50 specialists to discuss a wide range of topics.
“We’re hoping that people in the community can come together, learn about those things, as well as get the resources,” said Callahan.
Callahan said the biggest hurdle is getting people to talk about their personal issues. She added it’s also the most important step towards getting help.
