Parents in Santee are worried after their children described an older man asking them if they would help him find his puppy.
"It was very unnerving and I have taught [my daughter] this exact scenario of a stranger coming up to her and asking her to go somewhere using an animal," one mom said.
Many believed it was someone trying to lure kids at Town Center Community Park but 10News tracked down the man accused of being creepy.
The man, who didn't want to be identified, says he was at the park with his grandchildren and uses questions like that to teach them to say no to strangers.
He says he is sorry he scared the community and won't be doing it again.
