Ocean Beach resident Ryan Boarman, 26, was attacked by a shark while surfing in Bali, Indonesia Saturday.
His father, Bill Boarman said the shark clamped down on his son’s right arm and hand near Balian Beach.
Reports said it was a bull shark.
“We are worried about his prognosis and we’re upset because he's in a lot of pain and the drug he's on isn't helping that very much,” said Bill.
The Ocean Beach resident was able to get back onto shore alone before passing out on the beach. He’s now at a hospital in Bali.
Bill said it’s unclear if his son will be able to regain full mobility to his arm.
His family said they are hoping he will be transferred to a hospital in Singapore soon.
