MIRA MESA, Calif., (KGTV) — Mariano Osuna who has lived at The Casas Apartments on Capricorn Way for about a year and a half said he's experienced three incidents of theft in one month.
“Over the last month, it's really ramped up,” said Osuna.
He said his girlfriend had her bike stolen from their front door at the beginning of July.
“The bike was stolen from right in front of our house, right in front of our front door, which is the scariest part,” said Osuna.
And then a week later, their black Honda, which was parked right across the street was broken into. He said the windows were rolled up and the doors were locked.
“We saw it was a complete mess,” said Osuna.
And the third time, just this week, the most brazen theft. Osuna said the thief jumped their five-foot wall and used a ladder to carry a bike off their porch.
“This was something done with some care and thought,” said Osuna.
He said he reached out to the property management company and got an e-mail in response, which alerted residents to what happened.
Osuna said he wants more security to patrol their complex.
“We need to see them patrolling, we need to see them walking through the buildings, not just around the perimeter, we need them to be present,” said Osuna.
Police said they are investigating.
10News reached out to the property management company to ask if they are stepping up patrol, but they haven’t responded.
