CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - A relief fund was established Tuesday for the Chula Vista Police Officer who was seriously injured during a shooting and knife attack.
Investigators said Officer David Sachs was stabbed in the face several times by a man during a struggle Sept. 17. Officer Sachs opened fire, killing the man, police said.
Officer Sachs is off duty while he recovers from his injuries.

The Chula Vista Police Officers’ Association established the relief fund. All money will go directly to Officer Sachs for expenses related to the attack.
