A Rancho Bernardo resident is worried about an area full of vegetation under the freeway near his home becoming a fire hazard.
Bob Borders says a spot on West Bernardo Drive under the 15 was exactly where fire came through back in 2007 and nearly destroyed his home.
Each time he passes it and sees the brush continuing to grow, he becomes more and more concerned
10 News reached out to the city which says since there are no structures within 100 feet of the area it's not policy to clear the brush.
The area also involves SDG&E because there are power lines, but the utility says the brush has not grown past the minimum distance required between equipment.
