Lorrie Marshall is six months pregnant and in jail, accused of running a check cashing scheme out of an upscale Coronado resort.

10News anchor Itica Milanes spoke exclusively with her at Las Colinas Detention Center.

Last Friday police say Marshall tried to cash a forged $1,900 check at the Bank of America in Coronado. The teller knew something wasn’t right so she called police. Officers arrested Marshall and two friends in the bank parking lot.

When asked if Marshall did, in fact, go inside of the Bank of America to cash a forged check, she didn’t say anything.

Eventually she said, “I don’t know how to answer some of your questions.”

Police found out the trio was staying at the Loews Coronado resort.

Milanes asked her, “Police are saying they found 34 grams of meth in the hotel room and a gun. What were you planning to do with the meth and the gun?” Marshall said, “I don’t know.”

Officers say they also found passports, IDs, cash, check forging equipment and copiers in the hotel room.

“I went to court today so I felt overwhelmed,” Marshall said. Milanes asked why. The woman said, “Because my charges keep stacking up and I’m not sure why,”

She’s charged with 12 felonies and 2 misdemeanors.

“I plead not guilty to all my charges today, and being pregnant doesn’t help.”

Marshall is almost six months along.

When asked if she was under the influence during the whole ordeal, Marshall said, “I wish. Maybe it would make a little more sense to me.”

During the interview Marshall broke down and said she needs help.

“For drugs I’m trying to get my life together. I want to be a mother to this baby.”

The judge more than doubled her bail Tuesday to $250,000. Marshall doesn't know anyone who can bail her out. Her next court appearance is April 11.
