SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The Port of San Diego will vote Tuesday on whether to authorize nearly a half-million dollars to trigger the second phase of the San Diego-Coronado Bridge lighting project.
The $10 million project would utilize programmable LED lights designed by a British artist Peter Fink to further develop the local landmark into an international destination by 2019, the bridge's 50th anniversary.

Today's vote by the Board of Port Commissioners would authorize $486,000 worth of funding of California Department of Transportation and Fink to continue to develop the distinctive artwork.

The vote will be held Aug. 8 at 1 p.m. at the Port of San Diego Administration Building.
