SAN DIEGO -- An Ocean Beach man is warning the community to watch out for a thief.
Jon Gross' security camera caught a man stealing three packages off his porch and cleaning out his mail slot.
"Yeah, he was very confident," Gross said. "It was almost like he knew they were there, like he's done it before."
It's a hurtful crime any time of the year, but Gross says it stings even more this week.
"They were actually gifts for my mom for Mother's Day," Gross said. "So it's kind of a bummer."
One of the packages also contained a custom gift for his girlfriend. His neighbor's tell him he's not the only victim.
"People mentioning like 'hey, I had some packages stolen from my yard.' And one right up the street actually, one a couple blocks over," Gross said.
Gross hopes police can use his video to catch the thief, because he's taking it personally.
"The principle of it," he said. "Stealing from my mom and my girlfriend. “It's really unfortunate to kind of see these things happening in the community that you love."
