Missing Escondido boy reunited with family

"The brother of the 9-year-old had been riding his bicycle on Washington Ave in an attempt to catch up to his brother and father who were on their way to the Escondido Transit Center to catch a bus to San Diego. When the child lost sight of his family, he became very upset and two concerned citizens stopped to check on him. The child was upset and fled from the intersection, leading to the initial report that an abduction had occurred or had been attempted." - EPD

(KGTV) -- Escondido police are working to locate an abducted 9-year-old boy who was abducted while riding his bicycle on Sunday afternoon.

Officers responded to reports of a missing child just before noon Sunday near an AM/PM convenience store located at 300 W Washington Ave., according to police.

Escondido police confirmed to 10News that they are treating the case as an abduction.

The boy was last seen riding his bicycle along Escondido Boulevard. and Washington Avenue.

Officers told 10News they are searching for two suspects described as a Hispanic male and female in their 20's driving a light-colored Nissan. No other information was provided at this time.
