CHULA VISTA, Calif. - Police are investigating a girl's claim that a man tried to kidnap her in a Chula Vista neighborhood Wednesday morning.
A 13-year-old girl told Chula Vista police that at about 8 a.m. she was walking to Robert L. Mueller Charter Elementary School, where she is a student, when a man pulled up in a white van in the 400 block of Oaklawn Avenue. According to the girl, the man got out, grabbed her arm and said, "let's go, let's go."
The girl told police she escaped from the man, ran home and called her family, an officer at the scene told 10News. She was not injured.
The man fled the scene. The girl described her attacker as white, about 250 pounds, heavy set with a big scar from his eye to his chin.
