SAN DIEGO – About 50 homes in Linda Vista were without water Wednesday morning after a water line rupture at a construction site sent a torrent of water flowing down a street late Tuesday night.
According to San Diego Public Utilities spokesperson Arian Collins, the rupture occurred at around 11 p.m. under a construction site in the intersection of Osler and Preece streets when a contractor hit an 8-inch PVC pipe.
The break sent water pouring out of the ground and flooding the street and some nearby properties. Public Utilities crews responded and shut off the water.
The construction was being done by Burtech Pipeline.
As of 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, city crews were still on scene making repairs and there was still no water service to those 50 homes.
