A 60-year-old man suspected of being drunk was hit by a taxi Sunday near Horton Plaza as he walked diagonally across an intersection against a no-walking signal, police said.
The collision was in the 100 block of West Broadway at 1 a.m., according to San Diego Police Sgt. Tom Sullivan.
The taxi was traveling at about 25 mph when it hit the pedestrian, causing serious injuries to the victim's head, multiple fractures to his pelvis and lacerations, Sullivan said.
The man was taken to a hospital by paramedics.
