A 23-year-old Massachusetts man apparently drowned while paddleboarding near Harbor Island, authorities said Tuesday.
Ramone Beharrie fell into the water shortly after 5 p.m. Monday, according to the county Medical Examiner's Office. When Beharrie did not surface, rescue divers were summoned to retrieve him.
Beharrie was pulled to shore alongside Harbor Island Drive. He was subsequently taken to a hospital, where he died later Monday night.
Authorities said he was paddleboarding with a group of fellow internship program participants from Massachusetts.
