Gunshot victim prompts lockdown of Pacific View Leadership Elementary School

SAN DIEGO - Pacific View Leadership Elementary School was locked down Friday morning as police searched for an armed man in the area.

The lockdown at the school on 6196 Childs Ave. was initiated shortly after 9:45 a.m.

San Diego police said a gunshot victim walked into Paradise Valley Hospital, and officers were sent to an area near the school to investigate.

Police did not say why they believed the suspected shooter was in the area near the school. The location where the man was shot was not disclosed.

At about 10:40 a.m., the lockdown at the school was lifted after police were unable to locate anyone linked to the shooting victim.
