SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – It was a prank that sent several families into a panic in Point Loma.
“It sounded like an automatic weapon went off. It sounded like gunfire,” Kristin Montgomery said. “I was sleeping with my 4 year old daughter and I dove over her and was like laying on top of her.”
Montgomery then found out what she heard were fireworks going off around 2:45 a.m. Saturday. She found remnants of used fireworks on her block. Her security camera also caught what looked like a group of teens park a truck, hop out and fan out into the block. A few minutes later the night sky would erupt with bright lights.
One neighbor even said someone threw fireworks at her house.
“(My neighbor) actually took her 3 year old and punched out her windows to escape because she thought there was an active shooter at her house,” Montgomery said.
“It’s not okay to terrorize people in the middle of the night,” she added.
