SAN DIEGO - A woman told 10News she is concerned for her family's safety after a strange man refused to leave her Ocean Beach property Tuesday night.

"I hear a tap and I'm in my laundry room and I thought it was my husband," said 25-year-old Hannah Nelson.

Instead, Nelson said she saw a strange man peeping into her window.

"He would just stand right here and he was probably 6 feet," said Nelson, who added the man would not leave.

"My husband runs over and he said, 'What are you doing? Get out of here,'" said Nelson.

Instead, the stranger walked over to another window and demanded to come in -- again.

"He comes over and he's still like tapping and he puts his hands here," Nelson said as she showed 10News her window.

She said her husband called police, and by that time the man was trying to break into their car.

"He tries to like jiggle the door handle and is looking inside the car," said Nelson.

When police arrive, she said that's when the man ran away.

"The cop comes over and shines a light on him and he take off down the alley," said Nelson.

With two young kids at home, Nelson said she's worried for her family's safety.

"It still makes me super nervous that people come into our town and act like the house is theirs," said Nelson.
