SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A new exhibit could pick up where “home ec” classes left off years ago. San Diego’s Downtown Central Library debuted the “Thinking Money” exhibit Friday.
The interactive free exhibit gets teenagers thinking about financial issues they’ll be faced with in early adulthood.
“If they’re not teaching these things in school, where else are they going to get this information before it’s too late?” said San Diego Public Library spokeswoman Catherine Hong.
The exhibit located on the first floor of the Central Library takes participants through a variety of financial issues, concerns, and traps. It teaches them the difference between “Need or Want” and the dangers of financial fraud.
Hong said it will “instill those great money habits at an early age so that later on in life, they’re set.”
The exhibit is free and open to the public through June 24th.
