SAN DIEGO -- A San Diego woman is launching what she terms a dating app for couples.
Trisha Stone says she saw all her single friends having fun on dating apps like Tinder and realized that couples need a way to connect with one another too.
“How come there’s nothing fun for couples?" Stone said. "Like, you get in a relationship and then like you get a shared calendar or a to-do list. There’s nothing fun for me to do with my guy.”
Stone has been working to develop the app "In The Mood" for the last several months. She describes it as a way to help couples have fun, connect and make it happen.
“It takes sexting or any of that kind of flirting to the next level. And it takes all the awkwardness out of it and makes it super easy and just fun.”
Trisha and her husband Chris have been working the kinks out, and Chris says it's been great for their relationship.
“It kind of takes out the awkwardness of initiating and getting on the same page and kind of reading the mood,” Chris said.
Trisha says couples can schedule activities, meetings, dates, and rendezvous with each other. They can set a time and a place, accept or change requests and then send pictures or messages to each other.
“However freaky you want to get, you can get," Trisha said. "It's really just a hook up app for couples."
Trisha and Chris say the app helps make time for the important stuff and adds excitement to your relationship.
“So we’re just going back and forth flirting with each other," Trisha said. "Most of our dates are not going anywhere. Like, they're really just the shower, bed, tonight."
The app will launch in a few weeks, but just for the iPhone. You can learn more about "In The Mood" and sign up to be notified when it is released here.
