President Barack Obama is expected to announce his pick for the Supreme Court nomination at 11 a.m. ET.
The vacancy came after the death of Justice Antonin Scalia. Republicans in the Senate have said they do not plan to vote on a nominee until after the next president is sworn into office.
"I've made my decision," Obama said in an email to supporters.
