Mission Valley murder suspect arrested in New York

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A man is in custody in New York on suspicion of a deadly stabbing in Mission Valley in June.

Officers found Michael Nichols, 30, dead on the sidewalk of 1300 Hotel Circle South on June 19.

San Diego Police homicide detectives identified the murder suspect as Calvin DeVaughn Hobby.

The U.S. Marshals Service found Hobby Tuesday in Rochester, New York. Hobby is awaiting extradition and will be brought back to San Diego for prosecution.
