VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Gracie is a service dog with a painful past. She survived abuse by her owner, getting lost and being hit by a car.
After that, she was terrified of people and vehicles. Her trainer was determined to help her heal and retrain her and then give her to a wounded veteran at no cost.
The trainer knew Gracie would need to be matched with the right person so she arranged meetings with potential candidates. With the first few, it was a no go. Then, the right Marine came along.
