SAN DIEGO — Police arrested a man early Monday morning who they suspect may be related to a Sunday night hit-and-run collision in the Midway area.
Witnesses told 10News photojournalist Paul Anderegg that two male pedestrians were crossing the intersection of Sports Arena Boulevard and Camino del Rio West when they were hit by a car around 10:15 p.m.
Police said one 24-year-old man was dragged by the vehicle about 800 feet.
Witnesses said the victim eventually popped out from underneath the wheels of the car as it sped off toward Interstate 8. He was transported to the hospital with major injuries including a pelvic fracture.
The other 25-year-old victim had minor injuries.

Around 1:00 a.m., a San Diego Police K-9 unit noticed a silver Honda Civic driving without its headlights on. When officers tried to pull the car over, it sped off, eventually crashing into both a pole and a vehicle on Colusa and Lauretta streets in the Morena area.
The suspect was treated by medics and subsequently arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.
Police observed damage to the Civic that was consistent with earlier witness reports.
