SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Two masked men broke into a woman's El Cerrito-area home early Monday morning and escaped with cash, but the homeowner was not injured, police said.
The incident happened at about 2 a.m. in the 5800 block of Ascot Street, according to San Diego police.
Police said they believed the two men used a ladder to gain access to the woman's apartment through an open bathroom window.
Once inside, one of the men held the 60-year-old woman down while the other grabbed cash from her purse. Both ran out of the apartment through the front door, the woman told police.
A description of the men was not immediately available.
The homeowner was evaluated at the scene but not injured.
