SAN DIEGO - Residents in Ocean Beach are furious after learning a man exposed himself at a popular beach spot.
Delinda Lombardo has lived in Ocean Beach for the past 11 years. The view from her front door is what she enjoys most about living in the area.
"It's paradise; I love everything about it," Lombardo said.
It's no surprise that she spends a lot of time outdoors watching the waves and seeing beachgoers frolic in the ocean.
However, what she saw Monday afternoon just below her home made her sick to her stomach.
"I walked over here with my camera to get a better view of the man below," Lombardo said.
Lombardo said she saw a man standing on the rocks, exposing and touching himself as a family played nearby in the water.
"From this angle I could clearly see that he was watching them and pleasuring himself at the same time," she said.
Shocked, the woman grabbed her cell phone and took a picture of the man to give to police.
By the time officers got there, he was gone.
Susan Sustarich and her boyfriend are disgusted by what happened. They come to the beach quite often to take pictures.
"As somebody who comes and photographs here a lot, that's the last thing I need to see at the beach," Sustarich said.
As police work to track down the man, Lombardo posted his picture on Facebook to warn other neighbors to be on the lookout.
"Anything that's destroying this beautiful cliff of ours we're on it and we're watching," Lombardo said.
A San Diego police detective told 10News investigators believe the man is homeless, and do have leads in this case.
