(KGTV) -- The U.S. Forest Service is reminding visitors who are heading to San Diego County’s forests or mountains to be courteous and clean up after themselves.

The USFS’ public service announcement comes after visitors recently left “nearly 3 truckloads of trash” in the Cleveland National Forest.

In a Facebook post that included photos of the mess, USFS officials also noted that someone riding an off-road vehicle entered a closed area and “did significant resource damage by doing donuts in the vegetation.”

USFS officials said: “We always encourage people to use public lands respectfully, and we hope this message will help make that possible.”
