SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A suspicious item spotted in front of a Golden Hill church prompted road closures early Tuesday morning, but investigators later determined the object to be harmless.
Authorities were called to Broadway, near 24th Street, at around 1:45 a.m. in response to an item that appeared to be suspicious.
After authorities closed down surrounding streets, bomb squad technicians and a special robot inspected the object.
Investigators found that the harmless item was a bait tank that someone had been using as a toilet.
Road closures were lifted at around 4:30 a.m., San Diego police said.
