SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A barge, two trucks and a tractor converged on Coronado to pick up an illegally dumped couch stuck along its bayside.

10News alerted the Port of San Diego after people in Coronado complained of a wide range of trash along its side of San Diego Bay over the weekend. Much of that trash had drifted along with the currents, but the couch was lodged along the rocks.

"I was saddened because I think of this area as so fairytale like and pristine," said Karen Fairbanks, a frequent visitor to Coronado.

A spokeswoman for the Port says that stormwater from across a 440-square-mile region drains into San Diego Bay. That means litter from as far away as the Laguna Mountains can wind up in the waters after a storm.
