Update, Feb. 11, 10:45 a.m.: The girl's mother told 10News her daughter returned home over the weekend.
SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A San Diego mother is frantically searching for her 15-year-old daughter who she fears may have run away with people connected to human trafficking and prostitution.
Annie Powell told 10 News her adopted daughter Tamera was supposed to be getting ready for school Tuesday morning when she managed to sneak out of the house.
Since then she says she's only received a few short texts from her daughter.
Powell said she has obtained information that leads her to believe her daughter is with another teenage girl who has known ties to human trafficking and prostitution.
San Diego Police and the Human Trafficking Task Force are now investigating the case.
In the meantime, Powell is putting up fliers and posting on any site she can in hopes someone will recognize her daughter and help bring her home.
If you know anything about the whereabouts of Tamera Powell, please call San Diego Police or a dedicated hotline at 858-285-8794.
