SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A podcast recorded in San Diego is getting recognition for its analysis of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

“Mueller, She Wrote” is a weekly podcast hosted by three comedians who report and riff on all things related on Mueller and the Mueller Report.

The stand-up hosts are Jaleesa Johnson, Jordan Coburn, and a woman who goes by her initials of A.G. because she is a federal employee prohibited to partake in partisan political activities.

The podcast recently earned a Webby award for “Best News Podcast,” beating out the likes of Washington Post and Slate Magazine.

“That meant a lot to us,” said A.G., who spoke to 10News from her home where they record episodes. “It feels like we’re a podcasters’ podcast.”

The trio say they are flattered that people enjoy their take on the Russia investigation and it’s just as helpful for them to talk about the daily proceedings as it is for their listeners.

“Being part of a podcast has forced me to be really in tune with the details of the news and not just catching the headlines,” added Johnson.

The podcast has on many of the same newsmakers seen on news networks and is known for its fantasy football-approach to indictments.

“We started the podcast when the first indictments were dropped, and then A.G. thought we should we start a segment where we each predict who will be indicted next,” said Coburn.

The group says they are currently working on a daily podcast on broader topics but will continue to contextualize the Mueller investigation as long as it’s being talked about.
