SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A San Diego-area UPS employee was placed under quarantine after company officials said the worker tested positive for COVID-19.
United Parcel Service officials confirmed the worker’s diagnosis. The affected employee worked at sorting warehouses in Chula Vista and San Diego, but UPS officials said that “both facilities have been cleaned and disinfected and are operating.”
The facilities are at 7925 Ronson Rd., in San Diego; and 2300 Boswell Ct., in Chula Vista.
UPS officials also noted the Department of Public Health recommended three other employees be quarantined “as a safety precaution.” The three employees have reported symptoms, UPS officials told 10News.
“All areas where the employee worked have been cleaned and disinfected, and the Department of Public Health has not recommended taking any additional precautions other than continuing to follow the CDC’s personal hygiene guidelines that include hand washing and social distancing.”
