SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Residents chased down a driver who they said crashed into parked vehicles on their Loma Portal street and tried to make a run for it.
At around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, several residents said they saw a driver doing donuts in the 2100 block of Worden Street before crashing into three parked vehicles.
Residents confronted the driver following the wreck, and neighbor Ethan Crosby said, “He got out of the car and said, ‘I swear I didn’t steal this car, I promise.’ And then he booked it for five blocks, and then they eventually caught him.”
After residents caught up to the driver, they held him until San Diego police arrived to arrest him.
Police did not immediately say if the car in the crash was stolen.
