NORMAL HEIGHTS, Calif. (KGTV) — San Diego Police are searching for a man they say raped a woman Tuesday in the Normal Heights neighborhood.
The woman says she was sexually assaulted at about 11:30 p.m. by a man who possibly left in a white SUV from the area of the 4500 block of Cherokee Avenue near Monroe Avenue.
The victim was reportedly crying and distraught saying she didn’t know the suspect. She was only able to give a vague description, police said.
One person who has lived there for 40 years says Normal Heights is considered an up and coming neighborhood, but at night it’s dangerous.
Bill Davis said, “They don’t understand there’s a whole other world living in the alleys and streets after midnight in the neighborhood.”
Anyone who might have seen or heard anything is asked to call the police.
