SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 52-year-old man suffered serious injuries Thursday morning when he crashed a motorized scooter in the Core-Columbia area, police said.

The crash was reported around 1:40 a.m. near the intersection of West Broadway and Pacific Highway, San Diego police Officer Tony Martinez said.

The man was traveling northbound when he hit a bump on the sidewalk, lost control of the scooter and crashed, Martinez said.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries to his head, face and neck, which were not believed to be life-threatening, the officer said.
