SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A group of San Diego City College students are hoping their fundraising efforts will help them get to a national STEM conference in Hawaii later this year.
The students are a part of the club called SACNAS (Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science), a chapter of a larger, national organization. The club works with students K-12 to teach them about the career opportunities in STEM.
The conference offers research opportunities, tips to improve networking skills and workshops about cutting-edge research.
SACNAS takes place in October of 2019 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
