SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Two men suspected of carjacking a driver in Encanto Thursday night were arrested after a brief chase.
According to San Diego police, a 43-year-old man parked his white Toyota Prius at 60th Street and Brooklyn Avenue at around 9:15 p.m. and was walking home when two young men approached him from behind and used a Taser on him.
Police said the two men searched the victim’s pockets, found his keys and drove off in the Prius.
Responding officers, with the help of a police helicopter, spotted the Prius about an hour later in the 1100 block of Pyramid Street.
The two men jumped out of the Prius and ran, but one of them was quickly taken into custody.
The second man, believed to be the driver, climbed over a fence and hid inside a dog house, but officers were able to get him to surrender.
Police identified the suspects as 18-year-old Joron Walker and 20-year-old Jonathon Eggers.
10News learned the Prius’ driver suffered minor injuries during the carjacking.
