(KGTV) -- President Barack Obama will be holding his final press conference of 2016 hours after vowing retaliation for hacking operations aimed at interfering with the U.S. election.

On Thursday, the president told NPR, "I think there is no doubt that when any foreign government tries to impact the integrity of our elections ... we need to take action. And we will — at a time and place of our own choosing."

“Some of it may be explicit and publicized; some of it may not be," he added.

The president will be leaving for Hawaii with his family for a holiday vacation after the press conference.
