SAN DIEGO – Police say a report of a man who pulled a knife on a passenger at San Diego International Airport and stole a boarding pass was unfounded.

The alleged attack had reportedly happened just before midnight Tuesday outside Terminal 1, near the Alaska Airlines ticket counter.

An airline passenger told police a suspect wielding a knife demanded their boarding pass and when the victim handed it over, the suspect ran away.

Police investigated the report and said Wednesday they had determined it was unfounded. No further details were released.
