A man who was described by police as being "very intoxicated" was run over by a vehicle in a Logan Heights alley Sunday morning and suffered a broken ankle. The vehicle did not stop, according to police.
The incident happened at about 10 a.m. in the south alley of the 2200 block of Imperial Avenue, where the 55-year-old man was lying on the ground, said San Diego Police Officer Frank Cali.
Traffic Division investigators could not find any witnesses to the suspected felony hit and run, nor was there a description of the vehicle.
The victim's left leg was apparently run over, which also caused swelling in the knee, Cali said in a statement.
