Former Trump campaign staffers' indictments lead to political discussion in class

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - The indictment and arrest of two former Trump campaign staffers are propelling political discourse across the country.

Political science students at Southwestern College in Chula Vista were planning on talking about the newly released JFK assassination files until news broke of Paul Manafort and Richard Gates' indictments.

"It’s not really surprising since there’s always been for lack of a better word some weird stuff going on,” said Freshman Angel Sandoval.

Professor Alma Aguilar says she cannot recall the last time a former Presidential campaign manager got into this kind of trouble within a year of the election.

“With all the buzz that’s going with this - these individuals are still innocent until proven guilty,” said Alma Aguilar, "the plot is definitely thickening."
