Firefighters who saved piglets from a barn fire in Wiltshire, England served up the animals at a barbecue this summer, according toBBC News.
18 piglets and two sows survived the fire in February, reported the BBC.
Months later, the farm manager thanked the firefighters by giving them sausages made from the animals they had saved.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals told the BBC the piglets were "no better off" for escaping the fire, and the organization would send vegan sausages to the firefighters.
