Fire weather watch for San Diego County mountains, inland valleys to take effect Thursday morning

SAN DIEGO - Gusty Santa Ana winds are expected to move into the Southern California area Wednesday evening, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a fire weather watch for San Diego County's mountains and inland valleys.

The fire weather watch will take effect 3 a.m. Thursday and last until 3 p.m. Saturday.

"The combination of gusty north to northeast winds, very low humidity and warm temperatures will potentially bring critical fire weather conditions," according to the NWS. "This in combination with the very dry fuels could cause rapid fire spread along with extreme fire danger and/or fire behavior."
