Faulty detector evacuates Lindbergh terminal

Posted
SAN DIEGO -- A malfunctioning smoke detector prompted authorities to evacuate Lindbergh Field's Terminal 1 Friday.

The terminal was cleared out after the faulty detector went off around 8:45 a.m., but travelers were allowed back in less than 15 minutes later, airport spokeswoman Rebecca Bloomfield said.

Bloomfield said there was no actual smoke or fire. It was not immediately clear whether any flights were delayed.
