EL CAJON, Calif. – A man crashed outside an El Cajon high school after his car got egged and he tried to chase down the perpetrators early Friday morning.

The incident began sometime before 2 a.m. when the victim told 10News some people in another car pulled up alongside him in the area of Chase Avenue and Hillsdale Road and began egging his car.

“It happened really fast,” he said. “Four guys, it just felt like a bombardment. I had no idea what was happening. All of a sudden stuff was coming at my car. I look over and there’s all these guys in a car throwing stuff at me, and it turned out to be eggs.”

The man tried to follow after the suspect in order to get their license plate, but lost control and crashed into a light pole near the entrance of Valhalla High School. The crash destroyed the front of his engine.

El Cajon police are looking for a black Honda, but do not have any suspect information.

The victim was not hurt.
