EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - Authorities are searching for the driver who crashed his car into an El Cajon 7-Eleven store, and then backed out and drove away.
The incident happened just after 3 a.m. Wednesday at the convenience store at 394 West Chase Avenue, authorities said.
What caused the car to crash into the store remains under investigation, but 10News learned a clerk -- who was the only person inside at the time -- jumped into a cooler to avoid being hit.
After the car ended up lodged inside the store, the driver put it the car in reverse and drove off.
Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and using a license plate that fell off the car to find more information on the vehicle and driver.
