SPRING VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) - Patrons at a Spring Valley bar escaped serious injuries after a customer leaving the bar drove his pickup truck through the establishment.

Authorities said the wreck happened around 9 p.m. Thursday at The Bancroft Bar (9143 Campo Road).

The driver, who had been drinking at the bar, decided to leave but proceeded to drive his truck into the wall of the bar, which was packed with customers and several musical performers. The truck ended up completely inside the bar, authorities said.

A woman on her first night working at the bar and her boss were knocked down, and two men playing pool were also hit by the truck. None of the four were seriously hurt, and authorities said no other injuries were reported.

After the truck had come to rest inside the bar, the driver got out of the vehicle and apologized for trespassing, according to authorities.

The driver, who was not injured, was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Bar workers told authorities that the driver stopped drinking two hours before he left.

Despite the crash and damage, the bar's owner told 10News the bar would open at noon Friday.
