CARLSBAD -- A whale spotted just off the beach in Carlsbad is drawing onlookers.
The first reports about the whale started coming in around 10 a.m. Tuesday and folks quickly started gathering along the shoreline to check it out. This video was shared to us from Kelly Clavier:
According to SeaWorld, they are monitoring the whale, which they identified as a juvenile gray. They said the whale appears to be swimming freely and is not tangled in nets or stuck on the ocean floor.
They are keeping an eye on the situation, but said this is something they have seen before along our beaches and chances are the whale will eventually move on.
